On Wednesday, 9 September 2022, Assistant Professor Alexandros Stefanakis participated at the Euromed Follow-Up Committee of the EESC (European Economic and Social Committee) on Blue Economy.
The event took place at the Hotel Samaria in Chania, Crete.

The Euromed Follow-up Committee is made up of members who meet on a regular basis. Besides monitoring the situation in the region from the viewpoint of civil society, the Committee focuses on the European Neighbourhood Policy, the EU’s work in the Mediterranean region and its impact on cooperation between the EU and its partner countries.
It also organises the yearly Euromed Summits, which bring together the Economic and Social Councils (ESCs) and similar institutions as well as civil society representatives in the EU and their partner countries. It publishes reports on topical issues that are subsequently presented to a large number of civil society representatives during these annual summits.
